Unique, Solo Dance Costumes: Is it worth the money?

Solo jazz costume designed by Satin Stitches. As with any commodity, there are certain price points to consider. Purchasing custom solo dance costumes is no exception.

The lowest price point would include off-the-rack dance costumes or regular street apparel that you would use ‘as is’ or embellish yourself, with some rhinestones or other trims. If you sew something yourself, or have a friend or relative donate their time, this can also be economical.

Commissioning a local talented individual dressmaker would be your mid-price option. While commissioning a custom-design costume specialist-company will be on the high-end.

As with any purchase, you need to decide if the benefits of the higher-end product out weight the costs. What should you consider? Answer the following questions, and you will better be able to decide if commissioning a high-quality, totally unique, custom solo dance costume is for you.

How important is it to NOT look like others?

How important is it to trust that your costume won’t need re-working, and that it will fit and be what I really want?

How important is it to know your costume will dance properly and not fall apart, shift or move inappropriately?

How important is it to receive delivery when promised?

I’ve written several articles that relate to this discussion. These are some of our blogs over the last few years.

Additionally, we have lots of information on our Ordering Info web page that includes this document

How does this all work?
